Ceramic Ball Valves for Pulverized Coal Injection (PCI)

Pulverized Coal Injection (PCI) is a process that blowing large volumes of fine coal granules into the blast furnaces. This process provides a supplemental carbon source to speed up the production of metallic iron, and reduce the need of coke production. Therefore energy use and emissions also can be reduced. However, high speed coal powders will cause serious abrasion to the pipe fittings and valves. Especially for the valves, once the valve trims were damaged, the normal operation of the PCI system will be seriously affected.

However when Foyo’s full lined ceramic ball valves are installed In Pulverized Coal Injection system, abrasion was no longer a problem. High hardness and excellent mechanical properties ensure Foyo’s ceramic ball valves have a long-term and trouble-free operation.
